Ministry of Health and Rwanda Defence Forces improve people’s health during a special Army Week


Rwanda Defence Force launches a special Army week aimed at improving Rwandans Health. For two months, the special army week will Offer Free Medical services in Orthopedics, Dentistry, Ophthalmology and Gynecology.

“All Rwandans are requested to utilize the opportunity of having health services brought closer to them. Prevention is better than cure,” advised State Health Minister, Dr. Patrick Ndimubanzi, at the launch.

Ahead of the 23rdLiberation Day Celebration scheduled for July 04 2017, Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), in collaboration with other government institutions, has organized the Special Army Week from May 04 2017.

Rwanda Defence Force Chief of Staff Jacques Musemakweli said, “In the army, we emphasize catering for the populations’ health.”

The Special Army Week will cover a variety of activities aiming at uplifting Rwandan People’s lives, especially the lives of the most vulnerable.

Other partners include; MINALOC, MININFRA, MINEDUC, MINAGRI, MIGEPROF AND MYICT.

Free medical services will be offered in all Districts at the following Hospitals and Health Centers: Shyira, Gisenyi, Ruhengeri, Butaro, Nemba, Rutongo, Byumba, Muhororo, Murunda, Kibuye, Kirinda, Kibogora, Gihundwe, Bushenge, Munini, Kigeme, Kaduha, Kibilizi, CHUB, Kabutare, Nyanza, Ruhango, Kabgayi, Remera-Rukoma in Kamonyi, Nyamata, Rwamagana, Kibungo, Kirehe, Gahini, Rwinkwavu, Kiziguro, Ngarama, Nyagatare, Kibagabaga, Rwanda Military Hospital, Masaka, and CHUK.
